Taxi Drivers Voluntarily Suspension of Driver Badges

Following recent enquiries between the service and the taxi trade regarding voluntarily suspension of driver badges, please be advised of the following;

Anyone requesting a suspension would need to put this request in writing confirming that you are not currently operating.

This must include the following details:

  • licensee name
  • badge number and/or vehicle plate number

Be advised that the suspension would be valid up until the expiration date of the licence or until such time as you notify the service of your intention to re-instate the licence, alongside all necessary accompanying fees and documentation, whichever is sooner.

You must submit your renewal application prior to the suspended licence expiring.  Licenses will only be issued once all accompanying documents are up to date and the relevant payments made.

You can send your voluntarily suspension to the following relevant authority:

licensing@westberks.gov.uk – West Berkshire Council Offices, Market Street, Newbury, RG14 5LD

licensing@wokingham.gov.uk – Wokingham Borough Council, PO Box 155, Shute End, Wokingham RG40 1WW
