Ditch the car day - Wokingham. Wokingham Borough Council launches 'Ditch the car day' on 17th September to encourage as many people as possible to Ditch the Car on world car free day which is on Wednesday 22nd September.

Support for Vulnerable Against Doorstep Crime. PPP have 7 doorbell cameras, 7 internal chimes and 2 mobile routers which have been funded by Government to install in a vulnerable persons home, to help safeguard them from doorstep crime.

Self-isolation Guidance Change. From 16 August - People fully vaccinated or under 18 will not need to self-isolate after close contact with someone who has COVID-19. You’ll still need to take a PCR test and self-isolate if it’s positive, or if you have symptoms.

Scam 'Covid Passport' Email. Action Fraud has received over 700 reports from members of the public about fake emails purporting to be from the NHS. The emails claim to be able to provide people with a “digital passport” that “proves you have been vaccinated against COVID-19”. These emails are fake, and the links within them lead to genuine-looking websites that steal your personal and financial information.

Henley Royal Regatta – 11th to 15th August 2021. Wokingham Borough Council’s Public Protection Service and Meradin Peachey, Director of Public Health for Berkshire West, said: “We encourage all members of the community taking part in the Regatta to continue to exercise caution while they are enjoying this event.” “Covid-19 has not gone away: we are still in a pandemic and infection rates are still high. So please take sensible steps such as maintaining social distancing, washing your hands regularly and using lateral flow tests before attending to keep everyone safe.”

They need cash quick and can you give them your card details so they can order a phone.
