Each area of work carried out by the Public Protection Partnership Service originates from a legal requirement placed on local authorities. It is stated in the Constitution of each local authority Partner how these functions can be delegated and the Public Protection Agreement sets out the mechanism by which this delegation of powers has been achieved.
