We need to stay at home - there are of course exemptions, food shopping, exercising your pet - but we must remember every time we leave our homes we are at risk of transmitting or catching the virus.

14th January 2021 - Drivers fined for breach of weight restrictions

Drivers fined for breach of weight restrictions - Offences under section 5 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Public Protection Partnership (PPP) enforces weight restriction orders made under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. It is an offence to drive a vehicle through a restricted area where the vehicle exceeds the weight limit imposed (unless delivering or collecting items within the weight restriction). Routine inspections are undertaken on weight restrictions across Bracknell, West Berkshire and Wokingham areas to ensure vehicles are not breaking the law. PPP officers also undertake routine patrols with Thames Valley Police to check for overweight vehicles on the roads.

14th January 2021 - Wokingham trader convicted of unfair trading ordered to pay compensation

Wokingham trader convicted of unfair trading ordered to pay compensation. Saeed Sajjad Qureshi, aged 33, of Romsey Road, Reading, was convicted at Reading Magistrates Court on 8th January 2021 after pleading guilty to one offence under Regulation 8 of the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008.  Mr Qureshi was ordered to pay a payment of £2,000 to the victim.
