18th August 2021 - Routine Petroleum Licensing Inspections

Did you know that one aspect of our role is to carry out routine Petroleum Licensing inspections at petrol filling stations? This is to make sure they are safe and customers are getting what they are paying for.

We check everything from leaks inside petrol pumps, water in tank chambers and the fitness of fire extinguishers. As well as documentation checks including electrical test certificates and vapour recovery testing.

As part of the Licensing inspection, we also check ‘Trading Standards’ issues such as descriptions of products and prices. As well as weights and measures ‘quantity’ checks when appropriate.

During our inspections this week in #Wokingham we came across the new e10 fuel available from some petrol stations.

Learn about E10 petrol and use the Government vehicle checker to confirm whether your vehicle is compatible with E10.
