Scam Warning - Cold Calls Offering Free Immune Boosting Tablets

We're aware of a scam operating in the area targeting older residents.
 
Our residents have reported receiving a call from someone saying they're calling from the Senior Citizens Centre offering a free month’s supply of immune boosting tablets. However because of the pandemic they can not deliver these for free and would need to charge £5 for delivery through the NHS.
 
This is a scam. Under NO circumstances give your card details to anyone over the phone from a call such as this.
 
Please talk to older family members, friends and neighbours about cold calls requesting payment details. The more we can raise awareness we can take the power away from these heartless scammers.

If you receive a call like this then you can report it to Action Fraud.
If you feel you may have been scammed in this way and have paid money during such a call please report it to your local Citizens Advice team who will pass the details on to our Trading Standards team.
