14 July 2020 - Animal Warden Video - Keep Dogs Under Control off Lead

Animal Warden Video

A short video from our animal warden team reminding dog owners/walkers of their responsibilities to keep their dog under control at all times when off lead.

Did you know you are required by law to have your dog totally under control.

  • Be courteous to others when walking your dog in public areas; don't just assume that other people won’t mind your dog approaching them or their dogs, just because you think your dog is always friendly. Always ask before you allow them to interact, some people are worried by dogs and some dogs aren't as social as others.
  • Be mindful about where you are walking; there is a difference between a vast open field where you can see for a great distance, to a woodland with undergrowth and bendy paths where anything can suddenly appear, such as another dog, a cyclist, a horse rider or wildlife.
  • Please be responsible and only exercise your dog off the lead when you have total and absolute confidence that it can’t be a nuisance or a danger.
