Be wary of false claims regarding loft insulation
The Public Protection Partnership are advising residents to be on their guard as it is the time of year where there is an increase in complaints about work involving insulation and spray foam for the loft.
Be wary of unsolicited telephone calls or leaflets advertising these services. They could contain false information about damp, condensation or glass fibres with the intention of causing concern. Also be warned of unsolicited letters from claims management companies who allege that there is an issue with work carried out and offer their assistance on a no win no fee basis.
A timely reminder to residents to never agree to work being undertaken as the result of a cold call or someone knocking at your door. If you do receive such contact do not agree to any work starting immediately nor give out any personal information or bank details.
