This guidance has been updated to reflect the latest amendments to Government advice on Covid 19 to balance public health protection requirements and the need for businesses to keep working.  The position may change regularly as decisions are taken about Covid 19 related restrictions. At all times, consideration MUST be given to the most up to date Government advice on keeping animals, public health, social distancing and business closures. Gambling Act 2005 Licensed Premises FAQ’s – COVID 19. The Health Protection (Coronavirus) Restrictions (England) (Amendment) (No.4) Regulations 2020. The regulations published on Friday 12th June 2020 have allowed betting shops to open Monday 15th June 2020. It is anticipated that arcades will now reopen with bingo halls and casinos in July, with the Government target date of 4th July. The Commission has published a number of frequently asked questions covering its expectations from operators.  These FAQs are aimed at helping land-based operators manage compliance with Government guidance on reopening.

Heartless scammers target residents during coronavirus lockdown. Citizens Advice West Berkshire (CAWB) and the Public Protection Partnership, Trading Standards Service (PPP) are working together during Scams Awareness Fortnight (15 - 28 June) to warn residents to be on their guard against scams during the coronavirus lockdown. They are on hand to help people spot a scam and to give advice on how to report it.

03 July - Rogue Trader sentenced to 66 weeks custody

Trader sentenced to 66 weeks custody. Ruben William Reed, a Director of Warm Roof Group Ltd, Warm Systems Group Ltd and FDG Associates Ltd, at the relevant time of the offences with which he was charged, was sentenced at Reading Crown Court on 26th June 2020, after pleading guilty at Reading Crown Court on the 20th August 2019 to six offences between February to November 2018.

It's vital for test and trace purposes that when you visit certain premises such as bars, pubs, cafes (sitting inside or outside, eating or just for drinks) barbers, hairdressers and other venues that you are asked for your contact details. This information will support the NHS Test & Trace process in the event of an outbreak linked to the premise or event.
