At the recent Executive Committee Meeting on 22nd September 2022, West Berkshire Councillors agreed to support a motion which would see members of the taxi trade licensing electric/hybrid taxis and private hire vehicles being offered a remittance on their vehicle licence fee.

Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms regulations. Following approval by the House of Commons and the House of Lords, as of 27 June, the Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm (Amendment) Regulations 2022 are now law. The regulations came into force on 1 October and landlords must be compliant with the requirements set out in the Regulations from that date.

2022 Annual Status Reports for Bracknell Forest, West Berkshire and Wokingham Councils. Part IV of the Environment Act 1995 required all Local Authorities to conduct local air quality reviews. After submitting all 3 Annual Status Reports, within the prescribed timescale, DEFRA have approved the findings of all 3 reports, prepared by the Public Protection Partnership for Bracknell Forest Council, West Berkshire Council and Wokingham Borough Council.
