Officers from the Shared Trading Standards Service were out and about across Bracknell Forest and Wokingham Borough last week as part of an ongoing operation to identify and deal with any businesses that deliberately overcharge for unsatisfactory goods and services.

24 July 2024 - Public Protection Partnership Article – Glue Board Licensing in England

The Glue Traps (Offences) Act 2022 permits only professional pest controllers to continue to use rodent glue boards under licence and only in exceptional circumstances. The ability for pest controllers to apply for glue trap licences opened on the 19 June 2024 and the glue trap ban will come into force on 31 July 2024.

Action Fraud reports that the average housing rental scam victim in the UK loses £1,400 and scams typically occur when would-be tenants are tricked into paying an upfront rent fee to rent a property.
